Artue, an AI-powered art discovery platform, brought “Artue: GPT Curator” to OpenAI’s Mission Bay MB2 headquarters in San Francisco on September 28–29, 2026, in collaboration with OpenAI.
Held for OpenAI employees during OpenAI DevDay, the project combined Korean contemporary art with Artue’s conversational AI service, connecting a physical exhibition, a virtual exhibition, and art discovery and purchasing through the Artue app in ChatGPT.
The exhibition presented works by four Korean artists recognized for their distinctive practices: Doongji Kim, Jina Jung, JaeBum Joo, and Mi Seon Yoon. Visitors viewed paintings in person, explored a virtual exhibition on an interactive screen, and scanned QR codes to continue the experience through Artue in ChatGPT.
Within the app, visitors could ask natural-language questions about the artists and their works, receive recommendations based on their individual interests and preferences, and proceed to purchase available works. This created a seamless journey from viewing and learning about art to exploring a potential acquisition.
The project marked the first collaboration between OpenAI and Artue to bring a physical exhibition, a virtual exhibition, and AI-powered discovery and purchasing together in one experience. It extended the familiar art fair journey—browsing works, learning about them, and considering a purchase—through conversational AI. Guided by each visitor’s questions and interests, the service demonstrated how AI can support both the discovery and acquisition of art.
For galleries, Artue provides an additional channel for international marketing and sales. Works from participating galleries can be recommended to users of the Artue app in ChatGPT based on their interests and questions. This gives small and midsize galleries with limited international sales and marketing resources a way to introduce their artists and works to audiences beyond their physical locations and connect with potential buyers worldwide.
“Artue connects the curiosity sparked by an artwork with discovery and purchasing through conversations with AI,” said Bo young SONG, Founder and CEO of Artue. “We will continue to expand our service and partner network to help artists and galleries connect with new audiences and collectors around the world.”
An opening-day reception for OpenAI employees was held on September 28.
