The two organizations held an MOU signing ceremony on September 21 and agreed to cooperate across a range of areas, including the planning and operation of clinical research, educational and academic exchange, and research and development.

The agreement was initiated to build on the clinical experience and research capabilities of Boramae Medical Center's Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Center and Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, linking them with Cosmedician's R&D capabilities to expand collaboration in clinical research and R&D and continuously identify practical joint research projects.

Key areas of cooperation under the agreement include the planning, operation, and administrative support of clinical research; educational and academic exchange; and research and development. Based on the MOU, the two organizations will collaborate throughout the planning and implementation of research projects while sharing relevant information and expertise.

Building on the clinical expertise of its Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Boramae Medical Center's Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Center conducts a wide range of clinical and translational research in reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery, as well as skin and scar treatment. Through this agreement, the Center plans to further expand the foundation for joint research by connecting its accumulated clinical experience and research capabilities with the R&D capabilities of industry partners.

Through the agreement, Cosmedician plans to establish a foundation for collaboration in clinical research and collaborate on the planning and implementation of research projects. The company will also share research-related expertise through educational and academic exchange and continue to identify new areas of collaboration.

Since its establishment in 2014, Cosmedician has developed professional skincare products primarily for the skincare and aesthetics markets. Through its own brands, the company offers a range of skin and scalp care products and continues to conduct research and development in areas including ingredients and formulations.

Jun Ho Park, Chair of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Seoul National University Boramae Medical Center, said, “This agreement provides a foundation for connecting the clinical experience and research capabilities of Boramae Medical Center’s Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Center with the R&D capabilities of the private sector. Going forward, we will actively identify joint research projects with meaningful clinical value, including in areas related to skin, scars, and regenerative medicine, and work to expand the potential for the clinical application of research outcomes.”

A representative of Cosmedician said, "This agreement is meaningful in that it establishes a foundation for collaboration between clinical research and corporate R&D. We will continue to strengthen our R&D capabilities through ongoing research exchange and cooperation while identifying a broader range of opportunities for future collaboration."
