Lance: I'm supposed to meet Bob and Chris here for a drink but they haven't showed up yet.
랜스: 여기서 밥과 크리스를 만나 한 잔 하기로 했는데 아직도 안나타났어.
Sharon: They're probably held up in traffic. After all it is rush hour.
섀런: 차가 막혔겠지. 결국 퇴근 시간이긴 하잖아.
Lance: I know but they should have been here by now.
랜스: 그렇긴 해도 지금쯤이면 왔어야 하는데.
Sharon: Relax. There's nothing you can do about it.
섀런: 맘 조일 것 없어. 네가 어쩔 수 있는 일이 아냐.
Lance: You sound like my mother.
랜스: 넌 꼭 내 엄마같이 얘기하는구나.
Sharon: It can't be helped. I'm a woman.
섀런: 할 수 없지 뭐. 나도 여자니까.
Lance: I have noticed that.
랜스: 그걸 나도 알아봤지.
Sharon: So why are you meeting Bob and Chris tonight?
섀런: 밥하고 크리스는 오늘 왜 만나?
Lance: We're going to the Laker game.

(그가 또 늦기만 하면 난 기다려주지 않을 겁니다.)
* hold (somebody) up: ~를 늦게 만들다 잡아두다
"I'm sorry I held you up but I had car trouble."
(늦게 만들어 죄송해요. 제 차에 고장이 생겨서요.)
* it can't be helped: 하는 수 없다 별 도리 없다
"It's not an ideal situation but it can't be helped."
(최상의 상황은 아니지만 그래도 별 수가 없네요.)
