On a day that comes only once in a year, consumers are now enjoying more perks than ever before at various businesses. However, they must proactively strive towards earning the benefits that are available.

Starbucks has already began distributing free drink or food to customers on their birthdays if they have purchased its online gift card in the past. The free giveaway is not restricted to the size of the drink, while sandwiches, pastries and other food items are also available.
Cosmetics store Sephora also gives away a free gift sample kit to customers who are registered to their loyalty program Beauty Insider. Apparel brands American Eagle and Columbia are also handing out 15 and 20 percent discount coupons, respectively.
For restaurants, Benihana stands out as it is giving $30 gift card to customers who have signed up for their reward program The Chef’s Table. Red Lobster, Panera Bread, Outback Steakhouse and Boston Market are also granting various coupons via email to customers who have signed up for their rewards programs.
