[오늘의 생활영어] Did you see it (or this) coming?; 이런 일이 있을 줄 알았어?
(Paul is talking to his friend Dave…) (폴이 친구 데이브와 이야기를 나눈다…) Paul: I heard you and Ellen broke up. Is that true? 폴: 엘런하고 헤어졌다고 들었는데. 진짜야? Dave: Yes it is. 데이브: 응 헤어졌어. Paul: What happened? 폴: 어떻게 된 거야? Dave: She said she wanted to live alone. 데이브: 엘런이 혼자 살고 싶대. Paul: Did you see it coming? 폴: 이렇게 될 줄 알았어? Dave: Yes I did. I saw the signs. 데이브: 응 알았어. 조짐이 보였거든. Paul: Like what? 폴: 어떤 조짐? Dave: She started to come home later and later at night from work she didn't want to go anywhere on the weekends. 데이브: 퇴근하는 시간이 점점 늦어지기 시작했고 주말에는 아무 데도 가려고 하지 않았어.
