Action for Clean Environment Fellowship for Young Leaders Program Concludes with Completion Ceremony in Seoul

Action for Clean Environment (ACE), a global non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating global environmental activism worldwide, successfully completed its 2025 Fellowship for Young Leaders Program. Now in its sixth year, the program concluded with a completion ceremony held on August 24 at the Seoul Club in Seoul. The program was sponsored by Gobi Partners Korea (a leading venture capital firm in Asia), the State of Tennessee Korea Office, and Simple Planet (a food-tech start-up producing sustainable future foods).     The ACE Fellowship pairs Senior and Junior Leaders (upper-grade students selected for leadership roles) with younger Fellows in lower grades. Leaders mentor Fellows through guided learning and peer teaching, while Fellows collaborate to design actionable solutions to real-world environmental issues.   Five students, ranging from 5th to 11th grade, participated in the program this year. Eric Hyun Sim (Taft School) served as Senior Leader, while Jason Joon Sim (Eaglebrook School) served as Junior Leader.     “It was a proud moment to watch young students demonstrate their passion for solving global environmental problems and develop actionable plans without active guidance from adults,” said Tony Lee, Executive Director of ACE.     Eric Hyun Sim said, “I had high expectations for the students this year, and they exceeded my expectations by far. I look forward to seeing what these students will accomplish in the near and distant future. Earth and humanity are in good hands with this generation.”     Jason Joon Sim added, “This year’s ACE program was both fun and inspiring. I really enjoyed teaching and connecting with younger students to discuss sustainability. Seeing their genuine interest and growth was the highlight of the meetings. I look forward to next year’s program and continuing my participation.”   The three-week program featured three core sessions: (1) active team debate on pollution issues; (2) a tour of the Pangyo Eco Center located in Seongnam City; and 3) essay writing and group presentations. Through these activities, the leaders and the fellows engaged in dynamic discussions and hands-on learning on global environmental challenges.      정현식 기자environment fellowship young leaders completion ceremony ace fellowship
