EGCED Tech Signs MOU to Validate AI-Driven Defense Training in Real-World Education Environments
December 29, 2025, EGCED Tech Co., Ltd., a defense AI startup focused on applying artificial intelligence to military education and training, announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KST Special Warfare Vocational School to advance AI-driven innovation in defense education. This agreement goes beyond a conventional educational partnership. It is designed to validate AI technologies in real defense training environments and to establish an education-focused AI transformation (AX) model that can be scaled across the defense sector. EGCED Tech’s approach to defense education AI was initially validated in a global context at the 2025 National Security Hackathon in San Francisco, where the company confirmed that its core problem statement resonated beyond a single country or military system. The event was co-hosted by Stanford University, Shield Capital, and In-Q-Tel, and brought together defense and security stakeholders from across the international ecosystem. Building on this global validation, EGCED Tech is now leveraging South Korea’s advanced defense infrastructure and mature IT ecosystem to rapidly test and validate its AI-driven education and training models in real operational environments. Through this process, the company has identified that the most immediate impact of defense AI lies not in weapons systems, but in strengthening education, training, and decision-making capabilities. CEO Ganggeun David Choi personally designed and developed an AI-based education system grounded in real military training challenges. The solution has drawn attention for its practical applicability to shared education and decision-making challenges faced by both the U.S. and South Korean armed forces. EGCED Tech is currently using Korean defense education environments as a live testbed for fast iteration and validation, with the long-term objective of expanding into U.S. and allied military training ecosystems. CEO Ganggeun David Choi served as an officer in the Republic of Korea Army Special Warfare Command for over a decade. His experience includes joint and combined training operations, instruction for foreign special forces, and completion and operation of multiple elite programs, including RANGER, HALO, and Combat Diver courses—credentials rarely held by a single officer. Beyond defining the problem, Choi brings a startup-driven execution mindset focused on fast validation. EGCED Tech combines deeply rooted military domain knowledge with iterative, test-driven development to deliver verifiable change in defense education. Ganggeun David Choi, CEO of EGCED Tech stated “The real challenge of defense AI is not the technology itself, but when and how that technology is validated”, “This partnership marks the starting point for rapidly proving AI transformation models directly within training environments” He added, “We aim to be a team that speaks through results proven in the field. The problem-solving approaches shared by special operations units and startups finding solutions under constraints are highly applicable to defense, and we intend to demonstrate this on a global stage.” 정현식 기자environments education defense education real defense military education
