Korean Startup GLEC Targets $3.6 Trillion Global Market with AI-Powered Logistics Safety Technology
With economic losses from commercial vehicle accidents estimated at trillions of dollars worldwide, artificial intelligence (AI)-driven safety management technologies designed to predict and prevent accidents are drawing strong attention across the logistics industry. Demand is particularly high in the Asia-Pacific region, where surging e-commerce activity is driving rapid growth in commercial fleet operations and increasing the need for advanced safety solutions. According to market research firm Fortune Business Insights, the global commercial telematics market is projected to expand from approximately USD 57.6 billion in 2023 to USD 372.3 billion by 2032. Another research firm, Grand View Research, estimates the market will grow from USD 61.5 billion in 2024 to roughly USD 130 billion by 2030. Behind this momentum is the industry’s push to reduce accidents through real-time driver behavior analysis and vehicle diagnostics. In Asia-Pacific, telematics adoption is accelerating fastest due to logistics and e-commerce expansion, while in Europe and North America, increasingly stringent safety and environmental regulations are making sophisticated monitoring solutions essential. Amid this global trend, Korean startup GLEC is stepping onto the international stage with its GLEC AI Tachograph (ATG). Unlike conventional vehicle tracking devices, the GLEC ATG provides a predictive safety system by analyzing driver behavior patterns and vehicle diagnostic data in real time to anticipate and prevent accidents. Early pilot testing has already shown notable improvements in safety indicators, sparking interest from industry players. Another key strength of GLEC lies in its commitment to international standards compliance. The GLEC ATG is designed not only for safety management but also to align with ISO 14083, the globally recognized methodology for measuring logistics-related carbon emissions. This dual capability positions the solution to meet the needs of global transport companies pursuing both safety improvements and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives. Looking ahead, GLEC plans to establish a North American subsidiary in the second half of this year and officially unveil its ATG solution at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. A European market entry is also slated for 2026. “Global logistics companies are searching for a single solution that addresses both safety and ESG compliance,” said a GLEC spokesperson. “Our mission is to deliver exactly that.” As autonomous and electric commercial vehicles expand, and as 5G and IoT-based data processing technologies advance, the importance of AI-powered safety and carbon management tools such as GLEC ATG is expected to grow significantly. Industry watchers are closely following how GLEC will leverage these shifts to make its mark in the rapidly evolving global logistics landscape. 정현식 기자technology logistics safety solutions logistics industry safety management
