Dr. Shin Ji Yeoun, representative dermatologist of Korea Hev Dermatology Clinic, was invited as a speaker at the 19th Ramathibodi Annual Symposium of Plastic Surgery 2025 held in Bangkok, Thailand, where she delivered two lectures on advanced Korean aesthetic techniques. The symposium took place on August 25–26 at the Pullman Hotel Bangkok, organized by the Thai Society of Plastic Surgery. Thailand, recognized as the largest aesthetic plastic surgery market in Southeast Asia, has shown rapid growth and increasing interest in innovative Korean procedures, often referred to as “K-aesthetic.” During the conference, dermatologist Shin Ji Yeoun presented two key lectures. The first focused on combined treatments using filler and biostimulator for perioral wrinkles. Fillers are used to instantly restore lost facial volume, while biostimulators promote collagen regeneration to improve elasticity and provide long-term skin rejuvenation. By integrating these two approaches, comprehensive improvements can be achieved for deep folds such as nasolabial and marionette lines, resulting in natural and non-artificial outcomes. The second lecture focused on post-surgical scar treatments, including Korean skin boosters and EBD (Energy-Based Devices). Skin boosters, which deliver various regenerative and collagen-stimulating ingredients directly into the skin, are recognized as highly effective procedures for scar treatment. Combined with EBD, scar management can be carried out even more effectively. Dr. Shin also shared her clinical experiences with various Korean scar treatment devices such as Mirajet, Potenza, and Curejet. Dr. Jiyeoun Shin, CEO of Hev Dermatology Clinic, stated, “I was grateful to be invited to the Plastic Surgery Symposium in Thailand and to give a lecture. Although the participants came from different specialties and countries, I truly enjoyed sharing my treatment experiences and expertise thanks to the passion of fellow physicians who are genuinely dedicated to their patients and their care.” Meanwhile, Dr. Shin is currently serving as the Academic Secretary of the Korean Dermatological Association and continues to present actively at both domestic and international conferences. In particular, she has been frequently invited as a speaker at overseas academic meetings, while also leading hands-on seminars in Korea for foreign physicians, further advancing her research and academic contributions. The symposium will be attended by neurosurgeons and other medical professionals who are currently using or planning to adopt Elekta's radiation therapy device, Leksell Gamma Knife. Elekta will provide an in-depth look at Leksell Gamma Knife. Elekta, the organizer of the symposium, is a medical device company specializing in the development of the Leksell Gamma Knife, a breakthrough in the treatment of brain diseases, by Prof. Lars Leksell of Karolinska University in Sweden in 1972. It provides advanced treatment solutions such as Leksell Gamma Knife Icon, Linear Accelerator Versa HD, and Unity Treatment Machine based on high-resolution real-time MR to major hospitals in Korea in the areas of radiosurgery and therapy. At the symposium, Leksell Gamma Knife Esprit will present its newest product, including its features and clinical trial results. Leksell Gamma Knife has been continuously upgraded since its prototype was developed in 1968 and has now reached its seventh generation. It is currently in use in 54 countries around the world and has become the gold standard for stereotactic radiosurgery for brain disorders. The most recent model, Leksell Gamma Knife Esprit, is a revolutionary device for treating brain tumors in a non-invasive way. Currently, seven units have been installed worldwide, and two hospitals in Korea are using it, with two more in the pipeline. According to Elekta CEO Louis Kwon, the Leksell Gamma Knife was first installed in Korea in 1990, and has been used in clinical applications and data accumulation for more than 100,000 patients. "The new product 'Leksell Gamma Knife Esprit' is a device that can treat brain tumor diseases more reliably without surgery, and I expect it to provide an opportunity to treat patients more smoothly and expect stable results," said Kwon. "I hope you can check the excellence and utilization of Leksell Gamma Knife Esprit at the Elekta Neu-Sprit, Leksell Gamma Knife Esprit Launching Symposium."
