Katherine: How was Erica’s party on Saturday?
 
캐서린: 토요일에 에리카의 파티는 어땠어?
 

David: It was okay.
 
데이비드: 무난했어.
 
Katherine: Just okay?
 
캐서린: 무난하기만 했어?
 
David: For the most part it was good.
 
데이비드: 대체로 좋았어.
 
Katherine: What didn’t you like about it?
 
캐서린: 뭐가 마음에 안들었어?
 
David: The food left a lot to be desired.
 
데이비드: 음식이 좀 아쉬웠지.
 
Katherine: The food was bad?
 
캐서린: 음식이 안 좋았어?
 
David: Yes. And the music wasn’t very good. Erica doesn't know how to throw a party.
 
데이비드: 응. 그리고 음악도 별로였어. 에리카는 어떻게 파티를 여는지 몰라.  
 
Katherine: That’s too bad.
 
캐서린: 그거 안됐네.
 
David: I should have brought my CDs. That would have livened things up.
 
데이비드: 내 CD를 갖고 갈 걸 그랬어. 그랬으면 분위기가 살았을 텐데.

*throw a party: 파티를 열다.
 
"Mary is going to throw a party for her sister. It's her birthday." (메리가 여동생에게 파티를 열어준대요. 생일이거든요.)
 
*liven things up: 분위기를 띄우다.
