ArtCon, an art platform dedicated to connecting art with everyday life, will present Claude Jeong’s first solo exhibition in Korea, 《The Ordinary Moments in Chelsea, NY》 from November 5 to 16, 2025, at Forum & Space in Cheongdam, Seoul.

Born in 1995, Jeong is a New York–based painter who has exhibited internationally in cities including New York, London, Milan, Venice, and Rome. His works have earned acclaim on the global stage, and in 2022 he was awarded both the Chelsea International Fine Art Competition and the Contemporary Art Prize Lab Venice, attracting attention from the international art world.

For this exhibition, Jeong presents over 20 paintings inspired by the streets and everyday life of Chelsea, offering a poetic reinterpretation of ordinary urban moments. His works go beyond mere representation to explore the emotional and mnemonic layers of contemporary city life. Through an open narrative structure, Jeong invites viewers to engage their imagination and personal reflections, creating a dialogue between physical space and psychological experience.

Art critic Shirley Irons has compared Jeong’s work to the early paintings of Jonas Wood, highlighting the emotional depth that sets his practice apart. She remarked that “Through honesty, humor, and a remarkable sense of color, Jeong captures the freshness and originality of everyday moments.” Korean art critic Yi Jooheon describes Jeong’s art as “A vision that turns us into happy wanderers,” noting that the artist’s patient, contemplative way of seeing recalls the philosophy of Georgia O’Keeffe.

Song Jimin, CEO of ArtCon and curator of the exhibition, commented, “We are delighted to introduce such a talented and internationally active artist to Korean audiences for the first time. We hope this exhibition becomes a place for reflection, dialogue, and inspiration.” Song added that through Jeong’s painterly gaze, “viewers will be encouraged to rediscover the beauty and rhythm of urban life from new perspectives.”
