SDFOOD Korea’s NO1 gummy manufacturer in Gulfood Dubai, the Biggest Food Exhibition in the Middle East

SD Food is proud to announce its participation in Gulfood Dubai, the premier food and beverage trade show in the Middle East.   Starting this year in 2026, to match its status as a leading global exhibition, Gulfood has expanded its venue to two locations: the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC).   SD Food will host a booth in the World Food section at the Dubai World Trade Centre. We will showcase a diverse range of options including gummies, jellies, and chocolate balls, featuring our new Vegan and Halal gummy jelly lines as the foundation of our exhibit.   As the global food sourcing market undergoes rapid transformation, SD Food has responded by installing state-of-the-art German production lines capable of manufacturing high-functionality, plant-based gummy jellies. At this year's Gulfood, we will present innovative products that meet the growing demands of global buyers for reliability, diversity, and innovation in health-functional gummies, moving beyond simple, basic food items. The World Food hall, held this January, serves as the heart of Gulfood and acts as a hub for the world’s largest national pavilions and multi-item food supplies.   According to SD Food’s overseas export manager, we plan to focus on promoting specialized Vegan and Halal functional gummies tailored for the Middle Eastern market, including: • Sleep Health Gummies to aid rest. • Multivitamin Gummies for basic nutrition and immunity. • Postbiotics Gummies for digestive health. • Biotin Gummies for hair and nail health. • Plant-based Collagen Gummies for skin health and beauty. • Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Gummies for diet and weight management.   Building on 40 years of production expertise as the No. 1 gummy and chocolate ball manufacturer in Korea—a legacy inherited from our parent company, Daewoong—and maintaining strict international quality standards, we are ready to officially introduce our unique plant-based pectin and halal gummies to the global market. This exhibition serves as a promising blueprint for SD Food’s first major expansion into the Middle Eastern market and is highly anticipated as a key milestone in our global activities.   정현식 기자manufacturer exhibition dubai exhibition world food middle east

365 Islands Become the Stage! The World’s First Island Exhibition Unfolds in Yeosu

Next September, a special event will be held in Yeosu. With 365 islands and its neighboring sea as the main stage, the world’s first ‘island exhibition’ will be held for 61 days. The 2026 World Island Exhibition, from September 5 to November 4, 2026, is not just a single exhibition; it is a multidimensional experiential festival in which the island itself becomes the real venue.     Under the theme ‘Island, Connecting the Ocean and the Future’, this exhibition recounts the island, an isolated land, as a space for future capability. As the preservation of marine ecology and sustainability in the climate crisis era becomes the issue of human survival, the islands are getting attention as a laboratory to design the future of the world.     18 countries and one international organization will get together. The world comes to Yeosu.   About 250 days ahead of the 2026 World Island Exhibition, a total of 18 countries and one international organization have confirmed their participation to date, including Cebu City from the Philippines, Palau, Peru, and Kochi Prefecture from Japan, as well as Corsica from France. Targeting to accommodate up to 30 countries, the number of participating countries and cities is increasing continuously as the opening of the Exhibition approaches.     Recently joining ‘the Korea-Japan Tourism Promotional Council’ that was held at Saga Prefecture, Japan, and promoting the exhibition to local governments and tourism associations in Japan, the Organizing Committee of the Exhibition has been intensifying its international outreach. Expecting approximately 3 million people to join, the world will experience the islands of Yeosu city.     Three stages, one message.   The exhibition will have different attractions in the three venues. The Main venue, in Jinmo district of Dolsan Island, will feature 8 pavilions in an area of 182,000 square meters. The Organizing Committee informed that construction of the site began in September this year and would be completed by July next year. Centering the Theme pavilion, Island Marine Ecology pavilion, Island Future pavilion, and Island Culture pavilion will be established, providing an experience of 'islands without travelling to them’ through media art and cutting-edge technologies.     In particular, Advanced Air Mobility(AAM) aerial taxi and Wing-in-Ground(WIG) vehicles that glide above the sea surface are demonstrated in the Island Future pavilion. The future transportation that could be seen only in science fiction will be showcased in real-world settings across the islands of Yeosu. In the Island Theme Zone, visitors meet Santorini from Greece, the Maldives, and the Jeju Islands in a single location.     In Geumodo and Gaedo Islands, the sub-venues of the exhibition, the islands themselves become the stage. Walking through 18.5km of Bireong-gil(road) in Geumodo island, which was selected as one of ‘Korea’s 100 Most beautiful Roads’, visitors fully enjoy the spectacular beauty of the south sea and the relaxation of the islands in the bookstore in the middle of the road. Planned to develop an island camping site, experiential programs, activities such as kayaking and mudflat experience will be in service at Gaedo Island, making visitors feel the island through all five senses.     Expo Ocean Park is the central stage for academic events and international forums. The 7th Island Day will be held in August next year, and the ‘World Island Cities Conference’ and ‘International Island Forum’ will be held in September, giving opportunities for island-possessing countries around the world to share their thoughts.   Transportation, Accommodation, and Safety: Comprehensive Preparations Underway Anticipating up to 22,700 vehicles of average daily traffic volume compared to 13,600 vehicles during the exhibition, the organizing committee is creating a temporary parking lot with an additional 7,000 units. Investing 4 billion KRW, the committee plans to operate a total of 2,310 shuttle buses on 12 routes between the main venue and the temporary parking lot.     Additionally, Yeosu City is making comprehensive efforts to restore the marine environment in line with the exhibition’s mission to highlight the value of islands and the ocean. Deploying two cleanup vessels this year, the city administration collected 389 tons of marine debris, while approximately 15,000 personnel(cumulative) have been mobilized to conduct intensive coastal clean-up operations across the islands. The collected waste is safely processed through certified specialized contractors, and the discarded styrofoam is recycled as a reusable resource via recycling facilities.     As ‘Baekriseomseom-gil’, a road connecting Yeosu to Goheung, was recently designated as a tourist road for the first time in Korea, Yeosu is expected to become the hub for marine tourism in the southern region. Just like it is a popular tourist city that over 10 million people visit for four consecutive years, Yeosu endeavors to expand and upgrade its tourism infrastructure.     A Citizen-driven exhibition The citizens’ voluntary participation in the promotion is quite passionate. Relay support campaigns for the exhibition have been held across all 27 districts, and thousands of citizens joined the citizens’ pledge ceremony recently, assuring the successful hosting of the World Island Exhibition. A wide range of local organizations, including agriculture, fisheries, and sports associations, showed their enthusiasm and affection by purchasing tickets in advance.     Additionally, a pledge campaign to provide kind service with the owners and service providers was held to accommodate visitors and tourists. Beyond the success of the World Island Exhibition, the genuine endeavor to resuscitate Yeosu is leading whole change in the entire region.     “A special experience to find the true value of the island, come to Yeosu” The secretary-general Kim Jonggi of the 2026 World Island Exhibition announced that “For 61 days from September to November in 2026, Yeosu becomes the center of the world,” adding that “The world’s first island exhibition is not just a single exhibition, it is a multi-dimensional festival that visitors experience the past, present and the future of Island in an immersive and holistic manner.”     He further stated, “only the World Island Exhibition can give the spectacular experience by witnessing the future of the island realized through cutting-edge technology in Dolsan, feeling the nature on walking in Geumodo and Gaedo islands, and discussing the value of the island with experts from the world at Expo Ocean Park,” expressing his hope that “all the people in the world can find the limitless potential of the island in Yeosu.     He concluded by noting that “the voluntary participation and support of local citizens are the driving force behind the success of the World Island Exhibition,” and extended his invitational message that “In the Autumn of 2026, we look forward to welcoming the world to the islands of Yeosu.” 강동현 기자exhibition islands island exhibition islands are world island

His works go beyond mere representation to explore the emotional and mnemonic layers of contemporary city life. Through an open narrative structure, Jeong invites viewers to engage their imagination and personal reflections, creating a dialogue between physical space and psychological experience.   Art critic Shirley Irons has compared Jeong’s work to the early paintings of Jonas Wood, highlighting the emotional depth that sets his practice apart. She remarked that “Through honesty, humor, and a remarkable sense of color, Jeong captures the freshness and originality of everyday moments.” Korean art critic Yi Jooheon describes Jeong’s art as “A vision that turns us into happy wanderers,” noting that the artist’s patient, contemplative way of seeing recalls the philosophy of Georgia O’Keeffe.   Song Jimin, CEO of ArtCon and curator of the exhibition, commented, “We are delighted to introduce such a talented and internationally active artist to Korean audiences for the first time. We hope this exhibition becomes a place for reflection, dialogue, and inspiration.” Song added that through Jeong’s painterly gaze, “viewers will be encouraged to rediscover the beauty and rhythm of urban life from new perspectives.”    정현식 기자exhibition chelsea ordinary moments solo exhibition chelsea international

Monochrome Painter Jaewon Jung to Hold Solo Exhibition

Jae Won Jung, a monochrome abstract painter known for expressing the philosophy of space-time, creation, and dissolution, will hold her solo exhibition 〈THE WAY THINGS GO〉 from September 22 to 24 at NY COSMOS Gallery (formerly New York K&P Gallery), located in the heart of Chelsea, Manhattan.   In this solo exhibition 〈THE WAY THINGS GO〉, Jung explores the process of creation and dissolution within space-time through collections and sequences that embody order and balance. By delving into the relational dynamics of space and time, her unique attempt to express the interaction between unexpected and unchanging elements of lines results in the ultimate vision of a monochrome painter. Her works, marked by the crossing of black lines, reveal the principles of irregularity derived from simple elements.   A representative from the gallery commented, "The gallery, located in the heart of Chelsea, Manhattan, is internationally known for contemporary art collections and exhibitions. Jung's works have already garnered significant interest and attention from collectors in New York and both domestic and international art markets. In the selection process for this solo exhibition, among many outstanding artists from countries such as the U.S., Japan, Korea, Germany, China, Italy, France, Colombia, and Turkey, Jae Won Jung's highly refined and emotionally compelling monochrome abstract works left a strong impression, which led to her finally being selected through fierce competition and invitation as a solo exhibitor.   Each piece in this exhibition compresses essence through lines reminiscent of Jung's signature Oriental mark making. The works are characterized by dynamic forms, moving lines, and an interplay of unstable balance, with restrained thicknesses of black lines and geometric cross-compositions. They feature irregular transformations in form, all reflecting the artist's philosophy of the limitless possibilities of lines. Jung remarked, "A line is not merely a drawn element, but a system of creation and dissolution," offering a glimpse into her philosophical perspective on the infinite transformation of lines in each artwork.   Jae Won Jung explores the aesthetic possibilities of painting, photography, and film, combining poetic imagery with philosophical and introspective storytelling. She uses various media, such as painting, installation art, photography, and film, to express her thoughts and emotions in unique ways. After graduating from Yonsei University in Seoul with a degree in Bachelor in Laws, Jung earned her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York. She has actively showcased her monochrome paintings internationally, participating in solo and group exhibitions, as well as art fairs, at numerous galleries and museums in New York and Korea.      박원중 기자 ([email protected])monochrome exhibition monochrome painter this solo monochrome abstract

Daniel Orphanage Students with Disabilities Hold 'Flower Hour' Charity Art Exhibition with 'Be Friend' Team

There's an upcoming charity art exhibition in Seoul titled "Flower Hour," which showcases artwork from students with disabilities at the Daniel Orphanage. The event will be held at the 'S.ONE project' gallery from 2023 August 17th to 21st.   Operated by the Daniel Social Welfare Corp., the Daniel Orphanage offers both a home and specialized education to orphans with intellectual disabilities.   This exhibition is the culmination of a collaboration between the orphanage and 'Be Friend', a volunteer team from North London Collegiate School(NLCS) in Jeju, South Korea.
