Change in Action: David Yong DREAM Fund Visits Human Asia’s “Angel to Angel” Logistics Warehouse

The David Yong DREAM Fund, established to support children, youth, and vulnerable communities so they do not have to give up on their dreams, is continuing its child support activities in cooperation with the international NGO Human Asia.   David Yong, a Singaporean entrepreneur and founder of the DREAM Fund, recently visited the logistics warehouse of Human Asia (President: Changrok Soh) located in Seojong-myeon, Yangpyeong County, Gyeonggi Province.   The visit took place as part of the non-face-to-face donation campaign “Angel to Angel.” During the visit, David Yong personally packed winter clothing and essential items for children and also donated goods himself, reinforcing a hands-on, field-based approach to giving. The visit was intended to go beyond simple financial contributions and to take part directly in the process through which donations reach those in need.   The “Angel to Angel” campaign is a donation initiative that delivers children’s clothing, shoes, and daily necessities to economically vulnerable families in Korea through a non-contact system. The campaign began as a one-time initiative in late 2021, but ongoing requests for continued support highlighted the need for sustainability. In response, Human Asia reopened the campaign in earnest following the establishment of its logistics warehouse in November 2025.   The campaign operates through a virtuous cycle connecting donor angels, volunteer angels, and angels(recipient family). Donors contribute gently used items, volunteers inspect, sort, and pack them, and recipient families receive customized boxes tailored to the age and needs of their children. According to Human Asia, it takes an average of three boxes of donated items to prepare one complete support package for a single family, reflecting the campaign’s thorough screening process.   David Yong stated, “I packed each item with the hope that it would help make this winter a little warmer and safer,”“I hope people remember that support is not coming from afar, but from individuals who are moving their hands and standing together with them.”   Human Asia commented, “For children, clothing and shoes are not simply items—they are a minimum starting point for stepping into school and society. Our partnership with the DREAM Fund has been instrumental in expanding this campaign into a more stable and sustainable model of giving.”   The “Angel to Angel” campaign is currently accepting donations on an ongoing basis, including ▲gently used children’s clothing (ages 3–15), ▲sneakers, ▲food items, and ▲new bedding. 충성 고객 많아도… 아트 디스트릭트 명소 브루어리 내년 폐점

LA 다운타운 아트 디스트릭트(Arts District)의 랜드마크이자 사랑받는 양조장 ‘Angel City Brewery’가 내년 4월 문을 닫는다.   이 양조장은 보스턴 비어 컴퍼니(Boston Beer Company) 소유로, 사무엘 아담스(Samuel Adams), 트위스티드 티(Twisted Tea), 앵그리 오처드(Angry Orchard) 등으로 잘 알려진 미국 4위 규모의 주류 업체다.   보스턴 비어 컴퍼니는 핵심 전국 브랜드 성장에 집중하기 위해 Angel City Brewery와 바로 옆에 있는 ‘Truly LA’ 탭룸을 모두 폐점한다고 밝혔다. Roebling Building)으로 이전했다. 이 건물은 과거 금속 케이블 제조 공장이었으며, 로컬 다리와 전력선, 심지어 슬링키 장난감 제작에도 쓰였다.   2012년 보스턴 비어가 인수한 뒤 새로운 맥주 메뉴를 선보이고, 로블링 빌딩을 관광객과 현지인 모두 즐겨 찾는 명소로 탈바꿈시켰다. 반려견 동반 손님, 다저스·레이커스·킹스 경기 전후의 스포츠 팬, 리틀 도쿄와 예술지구를 둘러보는 관광객들이 즐겨 찾는 장소로 자리 잡았다.   만약 새 인수자가 나타나면 충성 고객층과 함께 브랜드가 유지될 전망이지만, 그렇지 않을 경우 로블링 빌딩은 부동산 시장에서 매력적인 매물로 평가된다. 회사 측은 Truly LA 직원 일부를 Angel City Brewery로 재배치하고, 양조장 인력을 계약 만료 시까지 고용해 직원 피해를 최소화하겠다고 밝혔다.
