Dick: Where have you been? I've been trying to get in touch with you all week.
 
딕: 어디 있었어? 이번 주 내내 너하고 연락하려고 얼마나 애썼는데.
 

Al: I've been on the road all week.
 
앨: 한 주 내내 돌아다녔어.
 
Dick: I have a problem and I need to talk to you today.
 
딕: 문제가 생겨서 오늘 너하고 이야기를 해야 돼.
 
Al: Can we talk on Monday?
 
앨: 월요일에 얘기하면 안 돼?
 
Dick: It can't wait. Can't you free up some time today?
 
딕: 그 때까지 못 기다려. 오늘 시간을 좀 내면 안 돼?
 
Al: I don't think so. The boss will take up the entire day.
 
앨: 그렇게 못 할 것 같아. 상사가 온 종일 잡고 있을 거거든.
 
Dick:  How about a drink after work?
 
딕: 일 끝나고 술 한 잔 어때?
 
Al: Okay but if will have to be a quick one.
 
앨: 좋아. 한데 금방 끝나야 돼.
 
Dick: No problem. How about six o'clock?
 
딕: 그럼. 6시 어때?
 
Al: That's good. Meet you at the usual place.
 
앨: 좋아. 늘 보던 곳에서 만나.

*get in touch with (someone): (누구와) 연락을 주고 받다.
 
“I got in touch with her yesterday.” (난 어제 그녀와 통화했어.)
 
*on the road: 여행하다. 여기 저기 다니다.
 
“I will be on the road most of next month.” (다음 달에는 대부분 여행을 할 거야.)
 
*free up (something): 해소하다. 확보하다.
 
“Working at home will free up more time to spend with my family.” (재택 근무를 하면 가족과 보낼 시간을 확보할 수 있을 거야.)
